FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
September 23, 2022
The following statement is from Assemblyman Michael Reilly (R-Staten Island) following a State Supreme Court Justice’s ruling against the city’s ‘vaccinate to work’ policy for New York City Police Officers:
“As one of the first state elected officials who came out against this ridiculous policy and others like it, I am pleased to see that this has finally been settled in court. Justice Frank’s ruling confirms that this policy improperly infringed on the rights of our police officers, and I am eager to see the impact that this has on similar mandates affecting other city employees.
I implore Mayor Adams to accept and adhere to the court’s ruling, and to take action that begins the process of reinstating all those city employees who were improperly terminated.”
