Assemblymember Michael Reilly (R-South Shore) is once again teaming up with local not-for-profit Where to Turn to offer community service credit to local students who help collect and return political campaign signage from now until the beginning of December. Reilly and Where to Turn first partnered on this now annual initiative in 2018.
“With Election Day behind us, it is now time to begin collecting the political signage that had been posted throughout Staten Island by various campaigns over the past several months. Often these signs are left posted long into the next year and it can understandably become a nuisance for the surrounding community,” said Reilly. “This is a great opportunity for students to earn some community service credit, especially during a time when their options are limited due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.”
Students will be awarded one hour of community service credit for every five (5) signs returned. Signs can be turned into Where to Turn at 22 Brienna Court every Saturday from 12pm to 2pm until Saturday, December 4th.
