Citing his long history of public service, Matteo notes Reilly’s knowledge of the most important issues facing the 62nd District
New York City Council Minority Leader Steven Matteo today endorsed Michael Reilly in his bid to become the next Assembly Member from the 62nd Assembly District. Reilly is running for the seat that is being vacated by current Assemblyman Ron Castorina who is running for Surrogate Judge.
“Mike’s long history of public service and his knowledge of the important issues facing the South Shore, including education, criminal justice, opioids, transportation, and transit, make him by far the best candidate to represent the people of the 62nd Assembly District in Albany. Mike is knowledgeable, passionate about community service, and ready to get to work. That is why I wholeheartedly endorse him to succeed Assembly Member Castorina, and I look forward to working with him.”
Reilly said, “I thank Minority Leader Matteo for his strong support. Steve is an elected official who recognizes problems and then goes out and gets things done for his constituents. From e-Waste pickups to AED’s at little league fields to revitalizing our commercial corridors to the thousands of constituents he has helped on a variety of local issues, Steve does his job effectively. I look forward to partnering with Steve to help our Staten Island community.”
