Stop the Proposed Homeless Shelter on Arthur Kill Road
The Mamdani administration plans to move forward with a 160-bed men’s shelter at 4934 Arthur Kill Road in Richmond Valley, despite serious concerns from local residents and businesses.
This location lacks adequate public transportation and is surrounded by small businesses that depend on a safe and stable environment for employees and customers. A facility of this scale in this area raises legitimate concerns about community impact and access to the services shelter residents would need to succeed.
Staten Island is not a dumping ground for City Hall’s social experiments.
As your Assemblyman, I strongly oppose this proposal and am calling on the City to halt these plans and work with the community to find a more suitable solution.
